Bison Botanics is more than just a cannabis company – it’s a story of passion, community, and a deep respect for the plant. Our roots run deep in Western New York, with our president, Justin Schultz, growing up just minutes from our current location in Kenmore.

Justin’s early experiences with cannabis, both personal and shared with close friends, ignited a passion for its potential to heal and uplift. He honed his skills, crafting recipes that addressed common needs – the very foundation of our current product line. This love for the plant, its potential, and the desire to share it safely and responsibly became the driving force behind Bison Botanics.

In 2018, Justin met Sean Connors, and together they embarked on this journey. Starting under the name Mend Botanics, they focused on small-batch, high-quality CBD products – tinctures, topicals, and gummies – all rigorously tested by third-party labs. Through local partnerships with bars, restaurants, and farmers markets, they built a reputation for trust and education within the community.

Bison Botanics has always valued the importance of community. We believe in fostering positive connections and creating a diverse, welcoming environment for our team and our customers. This commitment, along with our dedication to public education, has been instrumental in our growth as a leading hemp retailer and cannabis manufacturer.

Another key element of our story is the partnership we formed in 2019 with local farms outside Buffalo. When these cultivators faced challenges finding an outlet for their harvests, we saw an opportunity to create a strong, sustainable foundation for our business. Today, these same farms provide the high-quality cannabis we use in our extracts and hand-trimmed flower.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our knowledge and expertise across various aspects of the industry, from hemp retail and cultivation to manufacturing and adult-use cannabis. We’re proud to hold a Cannabinoid Hemp Processor License for the State of New York, allowing us to continue offering the best possible products and experiences to our customers.
